Kaštelir candles
Špacapanova hiša supports the local community, traditions and people with disabilities by choosing Kaštelir candles. Their light and warmth create a romantic and cosy atmosphere for our guests. Read more about the candles and their origin in the following paragraphs.
Prehistoric cups were made by residents with disabilities from the public institution Dom na Krasu. They left a lasting mark on the cups by kneading and shaping the clay just like our ancestors, who lived in this territory during the Bronze and Iron Age, used to do. We applied Karst soil on the cups – a pinch of native soil from local ruins, to remind us of the generosity of nature, the importance of soil and water and how precious pottery was throughout history. This project enables us to preserve the rich but often overlooked heritage, protect it, revive it, value it and safeguard it for future generations. It is a part of us, a part of humanity.
The candle is made of wax – recycled from waste oil, to which ancient Karst herbs have been added. May its flame bring you peace and warmth, and may you enjoy the intoxicating scents of herbs.
