Wines

Wines that grow from the Karst’s red soil and mature in the calm of our cellar.

In 1984, Miro planted the first Teran vineyard in terra rossa soil from the Karst sinkholes. At 250 metres above sea level, the vineyard is now home to 5,000 vines, and its north-west exposure provides just the right amount of sunshine. The vines are low-yielding, which results in better, higher-quality wine. To this day, we still work the vineyards by hand, and we produce Teran in the traditional way.

Miro’s son Ago has added his own creations to his father’s traditional Teran – Ribolla, Vitovska Grganja, Malvasia, and Cabernet Sauvignon. In very small, boutique quantities, Ago also experiments with later-harvest wines. The result is a series of unique, small-batch wines that are often a new experience even for the most seasoned connoisseurs.

In addition to our own wines, you can also taste a selection from our cellar of some of Slovenia’s finest winemakers, with a focus on biodynamic and so-called orange wines. Most are local, from the Slovenian and Italian Karst region, with a few also from the Vipava Valley, Brda, and Štajerska. You are warmly welcome.
